Women as a Valuable Asset within the Security Sector

This year's edition, taking place between 7-9 November, is focusing on two major topics for the current realm of international security, namely Smart Defence and Women, Peace and Security.

Conference call for participants: Young professionals, junior researchers, recent graduates and current students alike are invited to discuss and share their insights on key aspects of international relations, conflict management and security issues, within a vivid academic environment in the capital of Romania, Bucharest. Applications are closed.

Call for Papers

Guidelines for Authors

The submitted papers will approach one of the two topics of the conference: New perspectives on defence. The Smart Defence mindset and its sustainability and Challenges to an obsolete military culture. The gender dynamics and gender inclusion within the peacekeeping forces.

All papers will be written in English, with an abstract of maximum 250 words and 5 keywords and will be submitted via e-mail, as attachments (*.pdf) at the following e-mail address:
Deadlines for submission: 1st of October for paper proposals/ 15th of October for full paper
Late Registrations: 15th of October for paper proposal/ 31st of October for full paper

Paper proposal will be comprised of:
Title of the proposed paper
Abstract of paper
Name of author/ Name of co-author (if applicable)
Email of author/ Email of co-author (if applicable)
Institution of author/ Institution of co-author (if applicable).

The full paper manuscript will have a length of 8 – 15 pages, paper format A4, according to the following settings:
– Top: 1,5 cm, Bottom: 1,5 cm, Left: 2 cm; Right: 1,5 cm.
– Title: centered, 5 rows below the top margin, Times New Roman, size 14, bold, capital letters.
– Text: Times New Roman, size 12, single-spaced, Justify.
– Full author(s)’ name: centered, 2 rows below the title, Times New Roman, size 12, bold.
– Academic title: centered, a row below author(s)’ name, followed by the name of the institution, Times New Roman, size 10, centered.
– E-mail address – written a row bellow the academic title, Times New Roman, size 10, centered.
– Abstract and keywords: 2 rows bellow the e-mail address, Times New Roman, size 10, Justify.
– The subtitles will be written two rows bellow the preceding text and will be followed by the next paragraph with no free space between them, Times New Roman, size 12, bold, Justify.
– References (footnotes) will be written in Times New Roman, Justify, size 10. 
– Bibliography: listed at the end of paper, in Times New Roman, Justify, size 10 (not included in page counting), following Chicago Manual of Style Citation Guideline.
Pages will be numbered.

Authors take full responsibility for the content and format of the paper.
The papers not submitted in electronic format and which do not fulfill the abovementioned requirements will not be published.
